USET (Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test) is conducted by Kumaun University, Nainital to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professors & Lecturers in the state of Uttarakhand.


USET Eligibility Criteria

One who has secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master Degree or equivalent from universities recognized by UGC and State Government is eligible for it.

The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master level exam is completed (irrespective of the date of declaration of result) are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks

One with a reserved category will be 5% relaxation

One who has appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Master Degree (final year) exam and whose result is still awaited or one whose qualifying exams have been delayed may also appear for it.

However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and for those who clear the USET, eligibility certificate will be issued only on production of proof for having passed the Master degree or equivalent exam within 2 years from the date of USET, failing which they will be treated as disqualified


Age Limit:
There is no upper age limit to apply for USET


USET Application Form

Application form is available on the official university website. Candidates have to fill up the form online only. Application submitted in any other form will not be accepted.

General/OBC - Rs.900/-
SC/ST/PWD/PH - Rs.500/-


Admit Card

One needs to download Admit card from Kumaun University official portal.
No separate admit cards will be sent to any individual
One can download the admit card through registration and personal details.
All the details of the exam will be displayed in admit card


Result

The result of USET will be announced on the official website of the university.
One will be declared qualified if they succeed to ascertain a slot in the top 06% of the appearing candidates.
It will be mandatory to appear in all 3 papers and secure a minimum of 40% marks (General category) and a minimum of 35% marks (reserved category) in aggregate marks. The USET qualified candidates will be declared eligible for the job of Assistant Professor.


Selection Procedure

The Selection process will be done based on the performance in the USET Entrance Exam conducted by Kumaun University, Nainital.
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks scored in the Entrance Exam


Examination Scheme

The questions asked in all the three papers will be multiple choice questions. Paper will be Pen and Paper based

Syllabus of USET

Paper-I- questions will be based on teaching/research aptitude/ reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. There will be total 60 questions out of which 50 will be compulsory.


Paper- 2– will have questions 50 objective type compulsory questions from the following subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks. There will be total 50 questions. Candidates have to attempt all questions in 1 hours.


Paper-3- will consist of 75 MCQs from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.
