JEE Main is a national level entrance test conducted by CBSE every year for admission to engineering and technological courses offered by various government, private and funded institutions including the NITs and IIITs. Eligibility: Candidates must have passed 12th with at least 50% marks and studied Physics and Mathematics and must have studied at least one out of the below as optional subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Bio-technology Important Dates (Tentative) JEE Main online application starts – November 2015 JEE Main online application last date – Last week of December 2015 Correction period – Two weeks in second half of January 2016 Availability of JEE Main admit card 2016 – First week of March 2016 (onwards) JEE Main pen and paper based paper – First week of April JEE Main Computer based Paper – Second to third week of April 2016 Display of Answer Key and OMR Sheet – Fourth week of April 2016 JEE Main Result 2016 Declaration (paper 1 & paper 2) – First week of July 2016 Availability of score/rank cards – After the Declaration of AIR, JEE Main rank Exam pattern: Total Exam Duration – 3 hours Paper 1 Sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Paper 2 Sections –Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Drawing and Aptitude Test Total Questions – 90 Maximum Marks – 360 Marks for correct answer – (+4) Marks for negative answer – (-1) Zero marks will be deducted for no answer JEE Main information Brochure |
