As you said that you want to know about admission eligibility and criteria of Merchant Navy so here I am providing you eligibility and criteria of Merchant Navy:

ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY:

For joining merchant navy after 12, confirm:

Education Criteria:
Candidate age is between 17.5 to 25 Yrs.
Candidate must have passed 12th with atleast 50%.

Eye-Sight :
6/6 without glasses, No color Blindness
(The candidate is subject to medical examination).

The very first courses after join Merchant Navy is :

Pre Sea Training
• 3 month Pre-Sea Course in Deck rating.
• 3 month Pre-Sea Course in Engine rating.
• 4 month Pre-Sea Course in Saloon rating.

After that you would be promoted to next training as per your skills.
