Hello friend as you want to do Merchant Navy from ocean marine academy so here I am providing you details about Merchant Navy……

Minimum Eligibility criteria:
Candidates must have passed 10 +2 or its equivalent with minimum 60% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry group & 50% marks in English either in class 10th or +2

Eligibility
Aspirants can join as a deck cadet on board a ship after completing 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and train on the job for three years.

After completing the on – job – training one need to appear for the competency exam to be eligible to become a Navigation Officer, as required by the Union Ministry of Surface Transport

Appear in IIT – JEE exam and join a Merchant Navy training institute for a Bachelor’s course in Marine Engineering to enter as 5th Engineer or a Junior Engineer.

Appear in IIT – JEE exam and do B.Sc. in Nautical Science from a Merchant Navy training institute to enter as a Deck Cadet.

Appear in IIT – JEE exam and do engineering course to enter as Engine Cadet, 5th Engineer or Junior Engineer.

Direct Entry
Those Candidates who have completed 12th with PCM can apply for direct entry for Deck Cadets job.

Aspirants with B. Tech in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Technology can also directly apply for jobs like Engine Cadet/ Fifth Engineer/ Junior Engineer.

Physical Requirements

Aspirants who apply for the degree course should be physically and mentally fit.
The Navigators need to have perfect eyesight, though marine engineers can wear spectacles for eyesight up to plus / minus 2.5.

Colour blind people are not allowed. The aspirants must be resistant to sea sickness.
