Yes, you are eligible for SCRA exam after passing 12th class examination with Science – Mathematics stream. Special Class Railway Apprentices' (SCRA) exam by the Union Public Service Commission India. Eligibility for scra: Age Criteria: 17 years -21 years . Qualification: 10+2 level exam or an equivalent Examination of a University or Board approved by the Government of India with Mathematics and Physics subjects. Important dates: Release of notice: in the month of February Exam : in the month of June- July. Selection process; Written exam Interview. Starting salary of SCRA : Technical: SCRA exam passed candidates 13000/- per month NON-technical: SCRA exam passed candidates 9000/- per month |

Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA) was a programme by which candidates are selected by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) India, to train in the undergraduate program in mechanical engineering at the Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Jamalpur. This programme started in 1927 and is one of the oldest in India. After SCRA: On completion of the probation in SCRA, one is posted as an officer in the junior scale. Promotion to the senior scale takes place after about two years of service in working post. After six to seven years of service, the officer is promoted to the Junior Administrative Grade, which has two levels. After six to eight years, while remaining in the same pay scale officers are selected to be appointed as Divisional Railway Managers (DRM). The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) heads the organization at the division level SCRA Exam pattern: Part I contains – Paper I: General Ability Test (GK, English & Psychological Test): The total marks will be 200. Paper II: Physical Sciences (Physics & Chemistry): The total marks will be 200. Paper III: Mathematics: The total marks will be 200. Overall Marks: 600 Marks The exam duration will be 2 Hours for each paper. Part II covers a personality test of 200 marks. However, this part will be conducted only for those candidates, who have qualified their written examination.
