Procedure to Join Custom Department

I want to join Custom Department after my graduation so please give me the complete procedure to join?

The Central Board of Excise and Customs is a governmental body and it is a part of Revenue department under Finance Ministry. The Customs department deals with the levy of taxable goods imported to the Country and they are responsible to generate policies and procedures regarding customs.

The Custom department offers a lot of career options on good packages and better amenities to the employees.


Eligibility Criteria:
Graduates can apply for most of the senior job profiles in the department such as Superintendent, Preventive Officers of Customs etc.

Candidate who have completed Graduation with at least 50% marks are eligible.


Selection Procedure:
Competitive test conducted by UPSC and SSC

The written test for selection of Superintendent is carried out by UPSC

The written test for selection of Preventive Officers is carried out by Staff Selection Commission

Candidates who clear IRS Exam conducted by UPSC can join the post of Assistant Commissioner of Customs.
