Re: National Policy on Skill Development

Office of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is an integral part of the government policy on "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas" and its commitment to overall human resource development to take advantage of the demographic profile of India's population in the next few years.

Developing a complete and holistic policy document is an integral part of the process. This requires a fresh look at the already existing National Policy on Skill Development (NPSD), 2009.

The objective of the National Policy on Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2015 was to meet the challenge of skill at scale with speed and standard (quality).

It aim to provide framework to all skill activities being carried out within India, to align them to common standards and link the skill with demand Centres.

In addition to laying down the objectives and expected outcomes, the effort also is to identify the various institutional frameworks which can act as the vehicle to reach the expected outcomes.

The national policy also provides clarity and coherence on how skill development efforts across the country can be aligned within the existing institutional arrangements.

This policy is link skills development to improved employability and productivity.
