Eight Plans available under the policy:
PLAN A-1 For travel to countries excluding USA & Canada for business and holiday limited to USD 50,000.
PLAN-A-2 Same as (A-1) above except that benefits stand increased to USD 250000.
PLAN B-1 For travel worldwide including USA & Canada for business and holiday limited to USD 1,00,000.
PLAN B-2 Same as (B-1) above except that benefits stand increased to USD 5,00,000.
PLAN C For travel to countries excluding USA & Canada for employment and studies limited to USD 150,000.

Overseas Mediclaim Policy of National Insurance Company Limited is a package policy which covers travel emergencies when someone is travelling abroad. It is available for 3 categories of travellers-

1) Business & Holiday
2) Employment and Study
3) Corporate Frequent Traveller


Salient Features

1) It covers various travel emergencies faced whilst abroad.
2) Premium can be paid in Indian Rupees (except in case of Employment)
3) Claim assistance available from an international service provider
4) Claims are payable in foreign currency to Doctors / Hospitals abroad, directly by the service provider in most cases. In case, cashless service is not available insured can claim reimbursement

It can be purchased by any citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan going abroad for business or holiday purposes or any foreign nationals working in India for Indian employers of multi-national organizations getting salary in Indian rupees


Covered

First US$ 100 of all claims is to be borne by the traveller.

For travellers over 70 years of age and above 60 days of journey, the following Medical reports (from an MD Cardiologist) need to be submitted along with the proposal form:
1. ECG
2. Fasting Blood Sugar or Urine Strip test

If travellers are unable to submit the above Medical reports cover stands restricted to USD 10,000.


Not Covered

1. All pre-existing disease/illnesses are not covered (known and unknown).

2. Traveling against Medical advice or for Medical treatment including routine check-up.

3. Claims arising out of participation in Military, Naval or Air Force operations

4. Claims arising out of -Suicide/ intentional self-injury/ mental disorder/ alcoholism/ drug abuse/HIV related illness including AIDS

5. Claims arising out of participation in winter sports/ mountaineering/ adventure sports etc.
