I am doing the preparation of the JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam and want to know the exam pattern of it so please provide me its exam pattern and also give me details about its marking scheme? Is there negative marking for the wrong answer, give me details of it?

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research is the organizing authority of JIPMER MBBS entrance exam.

The JIPMER is a national level entrance exam is conducted once in every year.

Candidates can get admission in JIPMER, Puducherry and JIPMER, Karaikal campuses through this examination.

The JIPMER is an online Computer Based Test (CBT) of two and a half hour duration.

The exam comprises 200 questions and the syllabus of JIPMER MBBS entrance is based on Class 11 and 12 portions.

JIPMER MBBS exam is conducted in English medium only and there was negative marking applicable for the first time in JIPMER MBBS entrance exam.

The questions will be divided into 5 sections:

Chemistry
Physics
Biology
English and comprehension
Logic and Quantitative Reasoning

JIPMER Exam Pattern:

Mode of Exam: It will be conducted through online mode (Computer Based Test) only.

Duration of Exam: It will be of about two and a half hours.

Shifts: It will be conducted in two shifts, i.e. one in morning (10:00 AM to 12:30 PM) and another in afternoon (3:00 PM to 5:30 PM).

Language: The examination will be conducted in English medium only.

No. of Questions: There will be total 200 questions which will be asked in the examination.

Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English language and Comprehension and Logical & Quantitative Reasoning.

Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, four marks will be allotted to the candidates

Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
