my brother in law wants to take admission into the Master of Public Health (MPH) course at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research. Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry (JIPMER) under Government of India since the year 1956, is one of the leading Medical Institutions of India. It has been declared as an “Institution of National Importance” by an Act of Parliament, JIPMER, Puducherry, Act, 2008. Eligibility:- One with qualification of M.B.B.S Degree / B.D.S (Dental) / B.E., /B.Tech (Any Branch), (B.Sc. (Nursing) / B.V.Sc. (Veterinary Science) / AYUSH / Allied Health or Social Sciences of any recognized University / Statutory Body, in first attempt with at least 50% marks in aggregate. 2 years of completed work experience in public health system is desirable Medical / Nursing Graduates should have registered with their respective state Registration Council. Distribution of Seats:- Category No of Seats Unreserved (UR) 15 Other Backward Classes (OBC) 6 Scheduled Caste (SC) 3 Scheduled Tribes (ST) 1 Sponsored/Deputed 5 Total No. of Seats 30 For OPH candidates – One seat on Horizontal Reservation basis Duration of the Course: The duration of the course is 2 years. There is no stipendiary provision during the course of study There is a provision for sponsored / deputed candidates. Requirements for admission of Sponsored / Deputed Candidates One working as a Program Officers (Medical / Non-medical) under various national health programmes in Central Govt./State Govt./Autonomous Body / Public Sector Organization would be considered under Sponsored / Deputed category. The selected and admitted candidates should also pay the necessary fees. The application of sponsored / deputed candidates should be forwarded through proper channel with the certificates. Sponsored / Deputed candidates also have to appear in the Entrance Exam securing minimum 50% of marks.
