IES selection procedure is the way of short listing applicants in the following categories: Civil Engineering Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Selection procedure: A). Written Test/ Exam: The written test basically comprises of two papers, paper 1 is English and General Awareness and this is an mandatory paper that every applicants appearing for the exam has to give and the paper 2 is an optional paper and every applicants has to choose one option from civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and electronics and telecommunication engineering and these papers are called conventional papers where the paper 1 or section 1 will have objective type questions. There will be negative marking as well and for every incorrect answer one- third mark will be deducted. B) Personal Interview: The second step is personality test or personal interview conducted by IES officials for the short listed applicants and before the personal interview the applicants also has to submit the necessary documents for the verification. In this round the applicants has to face the panel consisting of esteemed and learned people which diagnose and scrutinize the applicants on various parameters and this round is taken for total of 200 marks. Important documents that the applicants has to submit for the verification: Birth Certificate Class Xth and XIIth passing certificate Address verification Call Letter/ Admit Card for Personal Interview Certificate of Eligibility etc. |
