Re: Difference Between UGC NET and Phd
The University Grants Commission is a statutory organization established up by the Union government in 1956, with mandate for coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education. The basic objective of NET (National Eligibility Test) is to determine eligibility for college & university level lectureship and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and in research Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy programs) is often taken by students looking for a research career within universities, nonprofit organizations or government agencies. The Ph.D. programs are offered in many different subjects areas, such as history, English, engineering, philosophy and economics. And UGC had announced in 2013 that the candidates who clear the National Eligibility Test (NET) successfully would be eligible for lucrative jobs in the public sector undertakings (PSUs). A doctorate degree is the highest title conferred in academia and qualifies you to become a university professor in your field of study. UGC NET Exam Pattern: Session Paper Marks Number of Question First I 100 60 out of which 50 question to be attempted First II 100 50 questions all are compulsory Second III 150 75 questions all are compulsory |
