Re: NET UGC and JRF Difference
NET is known as National Education Test (NET) and JRF is known as Junior Research Fellowship. NET is a national level entrance exam for post graduates many disciplines. The applicants can go for PhD after clearing the entrance exam and qualifying the exam. The applicants who want to go for research they can go for JRF which is a five year subject to fulfilment of certain condition. The UGC NET will make eligible to join your job as lecturer while you crack for entrance exam. JRF- Junior Research Fellowship is a fellowship (Rs. 25000/Month) offered by both CSIR & UGC to the eligible and selected candidates through written exams held two times a year as their stipend for doctoral studies or for their assistance in various projects. UGC offers a limited number of fellowships in all the disciplines viz. Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce, and others through its own (UGC- NET) exam. It also offers fellowships in 5 natural science discipline like, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences and Mathematical Sciences through Joint CSIR-UGC-NET exam held by CSIR two times a year, now they have added Engineering Sciences as one of the domain for CSIR-JRF. Now, anybody who wants to pursue doctoral studies can have JRF if otherwise eligible in their discipline. Any person, who qualifies for JRF, automatically qualifies for the NET. And, anybody who succeeds for JRF conducted by CSIR called CSIR-JRF and NET, if qualified only for NET called UGC-NET, because eligibility for lectureship is a right of UGC only and have nothing to do with CSIR |
