Yes , the candidate who pursuing the MBA final year are eligible for appearing in NET exam . I am here providing you eligibility criteria for the NET exam.

Eligibility for NET :

Qualification:

Candidate secured minimum of 55% marks in Masters Degree OR equivalent examination.(relaxation of 5% marks for (SC)/ (ST)/ (PH)/ (VH) category candidates)

Candidates who appearing at the qualifying Masters degree (final year) examination and awaited for the result are also eligible for the NET exam.

The Ph.D degree holders whose Masters level examination had been completed shall be eligible for applying for NET exam.

Age Limit

For Junior Research Fellowship:

Maximum age of the candidate is 28 year
(relaxation up to 5 years SC/ST/OBC/PH/VH categories and to women candidates and 3 years relaxation will be given to the candidates possessing LL.M. Degree).


UGC NET Exam Date

UGC-NET is generally conducted two times in a year in the month of June and December.

Hey as UGC NET is conducted mainly to recruit research assistants and professors in various streams of education.

Educational qualification

The candidates those who have completed their post graduation in related subjects can appear for the exam.
Those who have acquired post graduation from any recognized university are eligible for applying UGC-NET exam.

Age limit

The candidates appearing for JRF should not be above 28 years of age.
The candidates appearing only for lectureship have no upper age limit.
Age relaxation of 5 years will be given to SC/ST/OBC or physically disabled or women or visually handicapped.

Citizenship

Any Indian citizen can appear for this exam. But they should have pursued the Master’s degree as per the UGC norms.

Exemption and Eligibility for Lectureship


The NET will be compulsory even for the candidates with Ph.D. The NET is must for the post of lecturer.

There will be some exemptions for the M.Phil candidates. Those who have submitted their Ph.D thesis to the University before 31 December 2002 are avoided from this exam.

Also those who have pursued M.Phil by 31 December 1993 are exempted from this.
