Re: National Eligibility Test exam syllabus and Eligibility criteria

The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET).


NET exam conducted twice a year in the months of June and December by UGC. The notifications announcing the June and December examinations are published in the months of March and September respectively in the weekly Employment News.

Eligibility :

Candidates must have Master's Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test.

Candidates other than ST /SC category, who have secured at least 55% marks (without gracing or rounding off) in Master's or equivalent examination, are eligible for this test.

DT (A)/NT (B)/NT(C)/NT (D) (Non Creamy Layer)
Candidates must enclose attested copy of the caste certificate and the latest valid non creamy layer certificate (For current financial year.) The certificate must be in candidate's own name only

generation of filled Bank Challan for Fee : Monday, May 5, 2014

Last date of submission of Fee through online generated Bank Challan,

At any branch of State Bank of India (SBI) : Wednesday; May 07, 2014

Last date of taking printout of Application Form,Attendance Slip

and Admit Card from UGC website : Saturday; May 10, 2014

Last date for receiving the printout of online Application Form (one copy) and Attendance Slip (one copy) at the respective Coordinating University opted by the candidate (with fee receipt & category certificate(s)) : Thursday; May 15, 2014

Date Of Commencement Of Exam : 29th June, 2014 (SUNDAY)

Paper pattern:

There will be divided into two parts:
PART A (two and a half hour)
40 objective type questions and Candidates are required to answer any 25 questions

Syllabus:
General information on Science and its interface with society to test the candidate’s awareness of science, aptitude of scientific and quantitative reasoning.
COMMON ELEMENTRY COMPUTER SCIENCE:
PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS
SIMPLE ALGORITHMS AND COMMPUTATIONAL METHODS
PART B(two and a half hour)

There is one of eligibility criteria that the candidate must be Indian citizen and must have a master's degree from UGC recognized university.
