Students with 12th commerce have any chance of getting recruited in Merchant Navy?
I have passed class 12th from Commerce and now I want t join Merchant Navy and for that I want to get the details that students with 12th commerce have any chance of getting recruited in Merchant Navy so can you provide me that?

As you want to get the details of students with 12th commerce have any chance of getting recruited in Merchant Navy so here it is for you: According to me candidates who are from Commerce are not eligible to join Merchant Navy Here I am giving you information about required eligibility and age limit to join merchant navy below: Eligibility: Candidates must have passed diploma course with Mech/ELE/ECE stream and obtained 50 % in diploma Candidates must not be above 28 years of age Deck Cadet – Candidates must have passed Diploma in Nautical Science. Candidates mustr have passed class 12th with P.C.M (Physics, Chemistry and Math) as compulsory subjects and you must scored minimum 50% in aggregate and 50% in English at 12th level. Age Limit: 16-25 Years Medical Standards: Candidates should be physically and mentally strong, fit for sea-services under standard norms Eye-Sight: 6/6 without glasses, No color Blindness. Merchant navy courses: 3 month Pre-Sea Course in Deck rating. 3 month Pre-Sea Course in Engine rating. 4 month Pre-Sea Course in Saloon rating. 1 year Pre-Sea Diploma in Nautical Science HND (Higher National Diploma) Nautical Science HND (Higher National Diploma) Marine Engineering B.E Marine Engineering (4-Year Degree course in Marine Engineering) B.S. in Nautical Technology (3 years training at Institute + 1 year at Sea) 3-Year B.Sc. No, you cannot join Merchant navy after completing 12th with Commerce stream. Eligibility for Merchant Navy is as follows: A pass in class 12 is needed by students who wish to appear for the IIT JEE. They should also have learned mathematics and Chemistry in class 12. They should also have studies physics. A graduate degree in Marine Engineering or Nautical Science is needed for those aspirants who desire to join the engineering or navigation fields in the merchant navy. Aspirants who have finished their Bachelors degree in Technical, Mechanical or electrical engineering are eligible to join the Merchant Navy as Fifth Engineer or Engine Cadet. Qualification for joining merchant navy as officer The candidates need to complete the 12th class with physics as the optional subject. Chemistry and Maths are the other subjects of study. The candidate’s physical and mental health should be sound and the eyesight should be sharp i.e. 6/6. Those candidates who are really interested in the merchant navy need to have a Bachelors degree in Nautical Science or their degree should be in Marine engineering Qualification to join as utility hand or Petty Officers (Fitters) The qualification for joining the merchant navy as petty officers or utility officers: Personal Survival Technique (PST) Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FPFF) Elementary First Aid (EFA) Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (PSSR) Type of entry and its Qualification to Join merchant Navy Direct entry to Merchant Navy: Students with a pass in 12th class with the optional subjects as physics and chemistry along with Maths can join as deck cadets and those with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Technology Engineering can enter the merchant navy as Engine Cadet or as Fifth Engineer or as Junior Engineer. They need to attend a pre –training program in Marine Engineering by MERI. |
