UGC NET Exam Age Eligibility Criteria

UGC NET exam is for post graduate applicants wishing to apply for Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship in colleges and universities of India.

Eligibility Criteria
Age:-
Junior Research Fellowship: The age limit of students for JRF is 28 years of age.
Lectureship: There is no upper age limit

A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/ PWD/OBC categories and to women students

Three years’ relaxation in age will be permissible to students possessing L.L.M. Degree.

Educational Qualification:-
Applicants who have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree from universities recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test.

Scheduled Caste /Scheduled Tribe /Persons with disability category Applicants who have secured at least 50% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this test.

Applicants are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only.
