I want to know the eligibility rule to apply for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test – TANCET exam?

The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test TANCET exam is conducted by Anna University for the admissions to the M.Tech and M.E in the various colleges in Tamil Nadu.

The TANCET 2016 Exam was conducted on June 12, 2016

TANCET Eligibility Criteria:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field with a minimum of 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category)-

B.E / B.Tech. / B.Arch. degree programme.

B.Pharm. / B.Sc (Agri. / Forestry / Horticulture / Fishery) degree programme.

B.Sc. 3 years (Computer Science / Information Technology) and M.Sc. 2 years (Computer Science / Information Technology)

Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed.

M.Sc. (5 years) Integrated Degree Programme.

MCA (3 years) after 10+2+3 years bachelor’s degree.

MCA Lateral Entry (2 years) after 10+2+3 years degree in BCA or B.Sc.(Computer Science / Information Technology)

Candidates with 10+2+AMIE OR 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE are also eligible to apply.

GATE qualified candidates in Engineering / Technology are exempt from TANCET exam

TANCET 2016 Exam Pattern:

The question paper will have three parts with Part 1 & 2 being compulsory

Part 3 as per the discipline chosen by the candidates

The questions will be set at undergraduate level.

Part 1 & 2 will have30 questions with 1 mark for each correct answer

Part 3: Candidates must answer 40 Questions in the chosen field with 1 mark for each correct answer

Negative marking of 1/3 for every wrong answer
