NATA is the National Aptitude Test In Architecture

Tentative Dates
Online Registration for Application Forms:
1 March 2014 onwards

Date of Exam: On All Working Days from 14 March 2014 onwards

Registration Procedure:
NATA Registration form can filled and submitted ONLINE from its official website by payment of NATA fees of Rs. 1000.00 (+ Processing Charges) by Credit Cards / ICICI Isure Bank Challan

Download the Registration form and procure the necessary registration documents.

Select a Test Center

Approach the Test center for Appointment for NATA Exam

The Registration forms look like of this image

Attested copy of Class X Mark Sheet
Recent passport size colour photograph
Proof of NATA Registration Fee Payment
Attested copy of any valid ID Proof

NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) is conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA) for admission to first year of 5 year B. Arch Degree course at all recognized institutions all over the country.

The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability.

NATA Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who have passed or will be appearing for 10+2 (Class 12)/HSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects are eligible to apply for NATA 2015.

NATA Registration / Application Form:
To fill the NATA Application Form online, you need to generate a username and password at official website of NATA.

NATA Exam Tentative Dates:
NATA Test shall be conducted in two Phases.
• Phase– I from 2nd week of March to last week of May
• Phase– II from 1st week of June to last week of August

The test can be taken during this period on any working day except national holidays at designated Test Centers.


NATA Syllabus:

• PART 01:
Paper based drawing test and computer based online aesthetic sensitivity test.

• PART 02:
Drawing Test, this is a two hour paper where candidate has to attempt three questions.


Drawing aptitude is judged on the following aspects:
• Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner.
• Visualising and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundings.
• Sense of perspective drawing.
• Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form.
• Creating interesting two dimensional composition using given shapes and forms.
• Creating visual harmony using colours in given composition.
• Understanding of scale and proportions.
• Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences.

Aesthetic Sensitivity Test:
• Visualising three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings.
• Visualising different sides of three dimensional objects.
• Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities.
• Analytical reasoning.
• Mental Ability.
• Imaginative comprehension and expression.
• Architectural awareness.
