Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNUis a public state university, established on August 4, 1923 in the city of Nagpur in Maharashtra state in central India.

History of Nagpur University

It was formerly known as Nagpur University.

It is one of the oldest universities in India and the second oldest in the state of Maharashtra, after the University of Mumbai.

It was named after Tukdoji Maharaj.

It has been on teaching Indian languages like Sanskrit, Marathi, Hindi and Urdu besides other subjects like medical sciences, general sciences, arts, commerce and engineering.

The university has been offering medical degrees since 1947.

It is one of the best universities in the country due to its strict assessment and extremely high standards of academia.

It has also been ranked among some of the top Universities in India.
