It focused on medical and health-related studies, and comprises JSS Medical College, JSS Dental College and JSS College of Pharmacy at the main campus in Mysore and Pharmacy College in Ootacamund, in the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu.

Requisite qualifications for MBBS

One must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Exam PUC II/HSC or the Indian School Certificate Exam (ISCE) or any other exam equivalent to 10+2/ HSC exam of any recognized Board / University from any School / Colleges in India / Abroad after 12 years of study.

One must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together in the qualifying exams i.e. PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent and for SC, ST, category-I & OBC the eligibility is 40%.

One should also have secured minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together in the JSSU Entrance Test and for SC, ST, category-I & OBC the eligibility is 40% for admission to MBBS course.
