Re: GMAT Guessing Strategies
Hey buddy the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)is a computer adaptive test (CAT) intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA. GMAT Math Guessing Strategies You have to look for "matched sets." If 6 and -6 are both choices, it's more likely that one of them is correct. On percent and fraction questions, matched sets include those that add up to 1 or 100, such as 1/9 and 8/9, or 65 and 35. If you're asked for x - 5, there is probably a wrong answer choice that is 5 away from the correct answer. This is similar to a matched set, only the "set" contains two numbers separated by 5. If you've spent the time to read the question, even if you don't know how to do it, you may have an idea how others would do it wrong. Consider what sorts of answers would result from the wrong approaches, then avoid those. This can be particularly useful on combinations and permutations problems.
