As you want to get the details of eligibility criteria for the exam of Food Inspector so here it is for you: Structure and Pattern of the All India Food Inspector Exam The test pattern comprises of questions on technical side, which includes science subjects. There will also be an English language test. The duration of the exam will be 150 minutes. Aspirants need to be very careful in attending the unknown questions Qualification Criteria for the All India Food Inspector Exam: Candidates must have passed graduation in medicine and must have gone through training in food inspection are qualified to attend the test Or Candidates must have passed bachelors’ degree in any of the science subjects. They must have studied Chemistry as a subject in their qualifying course. Graduates in Agriculture / Pharmacy / Food Technology / Dairy Technology are also eligible to apply for the test. Those who are having an equivalent degree can also apply for the test. Application Procedure of the All India Food Inspector Exam Candidates can get the application form from the post offices within the country. As the test is conducted all over India, applicants can procure the same from any GPO offices across the country by remitting the required application fee. After filling the forms, applicants should send it to the official address of UPSC. |

Food inspector monitors and keep close caution on food processors, manufacturers and distributors for violation of safety and sanitation. They are also required to inspect slaughter houses and poultry farms. They report violations to the appropriate regulatory agency and are responsible for ensuring that foods are suitable for human consumption. Eligibility for Food Inspector:- Age: Candidates aged between 18 and 25 years of age are eligible to apply for the post of Food Inspector. Educational qualification: Educational qualification: Aspirants possessing any of the following qualifications are eligible to apply for UPSC All India Food Inspector Exam - Graduates in medicine with one year training in food inspection. - Bachelors degree in science stream with chemistry as a compulsory. -Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Public Health/ Veterinary Science/Dairy Technology/Pharmacy / Food Technology Candidates possessing any degree equivalent to those given above are eligible to apply. Procedure of Selection:- Candidates are selected based on performance in written test and interview.
