Duration Of Short Service Commission In IAF

I want to join the Short Service Commission at Indian Air Force .What is the duration of the Short Service Commission ?

Defence candidates wants to join Indian Air Force must know type of entries and commission they can opt in Indian Air Force.

There are only two types of commission in Indian Air Force Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission.

Short Service Commission

If candidates opt for short service commission in India Air Force then candidate working for a limited period.

It could be 10-14 years based on branch candidate have selected.

Both Men and Women candidates can opt for short service commission in Indian Air Force

Flying Branch

All graduates and post graduates candidates can join SSC Flying Branch through AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) entry directed by IAF every year.

The engagement period is 14 years from date of commissioning (not extendable)

Technical Branch and Ground Duty Branch

All graduates and post graduates candidates can join Indian Air Force ground duty and technical branch through Air Force Common Admission Test entry conducted by Indian Air Force.

The engagement period would be of 10 years.

An extension of 4 years may be granted subject to suitability, merit, vacancies, willingness and service requirement.
