The Department of Sociology was set up in 1989. Around then the main course offered was M.A. Humanism. In 2003, Master in Social Work (MSW) was begun. The office is putting forth numerous scholarly courses/programs and attempts an assorted scope of exercises and has all around prepared library-cum-workshop corridor, very much outfitted classrooms and a PC lab with ICT.

The Department urges understudies to take part in various additional curricular exercises, for example, banters about, classes, workshops. The Department additionally draws in understudies in field work, session assignments, presentations, class tests and viva-voice.

For M. A. Sociology:
Duration: 2 years/4 semesters
Intake Capacity: 50 + 15 Self-financed seats
Eligibility Criteria: Three-year B A with Sociology as one of the subjects and/or B A / B Sc/ B Com.
