Defense Employees Age Relaxation in Civil Services Exam
I want to know about age relaxation for defense employees in Civil Services exam so please give details bout same and provide syllabus for Preliminary Exam?

Here I am giving you details about age relaxation for defense employees in Civil Services exam and provide you syllabus for Preliminary Exam. Up to a maximum of three years of age relaxation is given in the case of Defense Services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof. Upper age limit for Defense Services personnel: 35 years Apart from this OBC/ SC/ ST candidates will get the benefit of cumulative age relaxation. This means age relaxations gets added in special cases, say for example, if the person is OBC + Defense Employee, he will get an extension of 3 + 5 = 8 years, i.e. his upper age limit now stands at 40 years. Syllabus of UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam: Paper I – (200 marks) Duration: Two hours Current events of national and international importance History of India and Indian National Movement Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization General Science Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: Two hours Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision-making and problem-solving General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc) (Class X level) Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. – Class X level) English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level) |

Civil Services Exam in India is conducted by UPSC for the recruitment of posts like IAS, IRS, IFS and others. The exam is conducted annually. As you have asked about the Defence Employees Age Relaxation in Civil Services Exam, check below for the details The upper age limit in case of Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers comprising ECOs/SSCOs shall be relaxed by the length Military Service increased by 3 years subject to the conditions that on these closing date of receipt of applications (i) the continuous service rendered in the Armed Forces by an Ex- Serviceman is not less than 6 months after confirmation (ii) that the resultant age after subtracting his period of service from his actual age does not exceed the set age limit by more than three years. This relaxation is also available to ECOs/SSCOs who have accomplished their initial period of assignment of 5 years of Military Service and whose assignment has been extended beyond five years as on closing date and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues certificate that they will be released within three months on selection from the date of receipt of offer of appointment. The applicants requesting age relaxation under this Para should submit a certificate in prescribed preformat supplied to them on demand from the Commission. Note : Ex Servicemen who have already held regular employment under the Central Govt. in a Civil Post are permitted the benefit of age relaxation as admissible for Ex-Servicemen for securing another employment in any higher post or service under the Central Govt. However, such candidates will not be qualified for the benefit of reservation, if any for Ex-Servicemen in Central Govt. jobs. (b) In order to qualify for the concession under (a) above, applicants concerned should forward with their applications attested copies of certificates that they have been released from the Defence Forces. The credentials should be signed by the appropriate authorities specified below and should specify the period of service in the Defence Forces :- For Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers including ECOs/SSCOs : A certificate in the prescribed preformat from the under mentioned authorities : (i) In case of Commissioned Officers including ECOs/SSCOs : Army :- Directorate of Personnel Service, Army, H.Qrs. New Delhi Navy :- Directorate of Personnel Services, Naval H. Qrs. New Delhi Air Force :- Directorate of Personnel Services, Air H. Qrs. New Delhi (ii) In case of JCOs/ORs and equivalent of the Navy and Air Forces : Army :- By various Regimental Record Offices. Navy :- Naval Records, Bombay Air Force :- Air Force Records, New Delhi |
