Combined Defense Services examination is taken by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy.

CDS Exams takes place twice in a year i.e. in the month of February and November and the notification for the exam is usually released in the months of October and June respectively.

Eligibility
Candidates must be a graduate from any recognized university with Physics and Mathematics as subjects or must have an engineering graduate degree.

Only aspirants who are unmarried and have completed their graduation are eligible to sit for this exam.

(i) For IMA: Unmarried male applicants born not earlier than 2nd July, 1991 and not later than 1st July 1996.

(ii) For Indian Naval Academy: Unmarried male applicants born not earlier than 2nd July, 1991 and not later than 1st July,1996.

(iii) For Air Force Academy: Unmarried male applicants born not earlier than 2nd July, 1992 and not later than 1st July, 1996
