Hello, yes CLAT is compulsory for doing LLB from the various top and National Law Universities. Here I am providing you the details of CLAT as under:

About CLAT:
Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) - Exam Details. CLAT entrance examination is conducted for admission to 17 of the coveted National Law Schools. The following national law universities (NLUs) consider CLAT scores for admissions to their under graduate program

Eligibility:
A candidate should have obtained Higher Secondary School/ Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognized Board with not less than 45% marks in aggregate

Age limit:
Below 20 years

Paper pattern:
Subject Areas Weightage
English including comprehension 40
General knowledge/ Current Affairs 50
Elementary Math ( Numerical Ability) 20
Legal aptitude 50
Logical reasoning 40

Application fees:
Rs. 4000/-

Important Dates
Commencement of Submission of Online Application Form: 01st January 2016
Last Date for Submission of Dully Filled in Online Application Form: 31st March 2016 (11.59 PM)
Date of CLAT-2016 Online Exam: 08th May 2016 (03.00 PM to 05.00 PM)
