Re: Bank PO And Bank Clerical Post ExamsWhat is Difference

Banking profession would be an attractive career for young graduates.

So, in India, graduates always wish to take up the common examination taken by Banking Service Recruitment Board to find a job in their dream sector of banking.

Banks provide notification about the examination on leading newspapers and job portals and applicants has to keep on watch the notifications and should apply for the examination.

Banking Service Recruitment Board examination is conducted for recruiting applicants as Probationary Officers, which is called as Bank PO examination and also for taking up applicants as clerks, which is called as Bank Clerical Examination.

In the case of PO examination, banks take up applicants and they are provided training as probationary officers for a period of two years.

The position of the applicants is decided on the basis of their performance during the probationary period.

Even though, BSRB examination is taken for both Probationary and clerical posts, there is certain level of difference between these two examinations.

For applying to the clerical post, applicants should be in the age group of 18-26, while for probationary officer, the age group is between 21 and 28 years.

Clerical examination constitutes of questions to test English language skills, numerical aptitude, clerical aptitude and reasoning ability, while PO examination constitutes of questions to test quantitative aptitude, general and English awareness and reasoning ability of applicants

In both clerical post and PO examinations, applicants getting through the written examination are called for personal interview.

In the case of probationary officers, interview aims at assessing decision-making, leadership qualities and intelligence of applicants .
