You are not eligible for became an IPS Officer after 12th, for IPS as the minimum academic qualification for IAS is Graduation in any stream. The applicant who wants to become an IPS - Indian Police Service must need to clear Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year. Eligibility for the IPS Officer: Educational Qualification To be eligible for becoming an IPS officer the candidate must possess a degree from an Indian University or an equivalent qualification. Age The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years on 1st August of the year of examination and must not have attained 30 years of age on that date. The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. The upper age limit is also relaxed in favor of Defense Services Personnel. For IPS, the candidate must be a citizen of India. IPS Exam consists of total 9 papers based on different topics which are mentioned below: Paper I: Language Exam Paper II: General English Paper III: Essay Paper IV and V: General Studies Paper VI, VII, VIII and IX: Optional Subjects |
