To become Road Tax officer (RTO) you have to appear in P.C.S. (Provincial Civil Services) exam or RTO exam held by The Public Service Commission of state. There are many posts also available in RTO for eligible candidates. Eligibility for RTO Clerk Post: You should be the citizen of India. You should have the age limit within 18 to 37 years. You should complete graduate from a recognized institute. Eligibility for RTO Judicial Post: You should be the citizen of India You should have the age limit within 23-35 years. You should complete graduate in law from a recognized university Eligibility for RTO Sub Assistant: You should be the citizen of India You should have the age more than 34 years You should complete graduate from a recognized university in particular fields such as mechanical and civil Selection Procedure: 1. Written Test 2. Interview Exam Pattern: Exam pattern may vary sate to sate because it is state level exam and every state conducts this exam. 1. Preliminary Exam: General Studies Any one of the following subjects: Agriculture Botany Commerce Chemistry Economics Geography Indian History Mathematics Physics Political Science Sociology Zoology 2. The Regional Transport Office or Regional Transport Authority (RTO / RTA) is the organisation of the Indian government responsible for maintaining a database of drivers and a database of vehicles for various states of India. RTO exam is conducted by the Public service commission of every state in India. Under the RTO exam three types of posts like: Clerk Post Assistant Engineer Post Judicial Post Eligibility: For the clerk post: One should be passed the 10th class or equivalent class One must be between the 18 to 28 years Indian citizen can only apply For the Assistant engineer post: One should have passed Bachelor degree in engineering with at least 55% marks from any recognized university. One’s age must be between the 21 to 30 years, Indian citizen can only apply For the Judicial post: One should have passed Bachelor degree in Law with at least 55% marks from any recognized university. One’s age must be between the 21 to 30 years. Indian citizen can only apply Selection Process: 1. Written test 2.Interview Activities performed by RTO Registration of vehicles Motor vehicle tax collection Issue of licenses for public transit and freight traffic Conduct driving test and issue Learner's and Permanent driver's license and renewing the same Maintain database of registered vehicles Vehicle transfer and registration of mortgage transactions Maintaining a proper check on the validity of Insurance on motor vehicles Mechanical inspection of accidental vehicles Grant certificate of fitness to transport vehicles Issue badges to the drivers of public services vehicles like Auto rickshaws and Taxis Issue International driving permits |
