The Graduate Record Examination GRE is a Standardized test that measures verbal, mathematical and analytical skills of the candidates.

It is an admissions requirement for most graduate schools in the United States.

GRE Test Eligibility

Candidates should be at least +2 or equivalent to take this test.

GRE Test Pattern

GRE Test is an entirely Computer based test.

The test is scored out of 1600 (in multiples of 10).

It consists of questions from:

Section No of Questions Timing
Verbal section 30 30 mins
Quantitative Section 28 45 mins
Analytical Writing
Assessment (AWA) Analysis of an Issue 45 mins
Analysis of an Argument 30 mins

GRE Test Syllabus

The main contents of the syllabus of the GRE test are:

Verbal Reasoning Section comprises

6 Sentence Completion questions
7 Analogy questions,
8 Reading Comprehension questions and
9 Antonym questions.

Quantitative Reasoning Section comprises

14 problem solving questions while the other
14 quantitative comparison questions.
Some Data analysis questions also a part of this section.

Analytical Writing Ability Section comprises

2 essays
