Can you tell me about the number of Attempts given for All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT), now replaced with National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET UG) 2020?

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET UG) is a national level entrance exam of India for offering admission to medical courses. It will be conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency). NEET will be held in Multi-languages across India. It will be held for admission to MBBS and BDS courses.


NEET UG No of Attempts


National Testing Agency (NTA) which is now the conducting body for NEET, there is currently no limits to the number of attempts for NEET. This is in accordance with the erstwhile conducting body Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) statement on its NEET website, "There is no cap for the number of attempts".


NEET UG Paper Pattern


Academic Qualification
One who has passed or are appearing in class 12th or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English as core subjects from a recognized board.


Age limit
One must be 17 years of age by December 31, 2020.
There is no upper age bar in NEET 2020. However, this is subject to the orders of the Supreme Court.


Maximum Number of Attempts
There are no restrictions on number of attempts in NEET 2020.


Nationality of Candidate
Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs and Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply.


Qualifying Marks
Qualifying marks in class XII for each category are:
General/GEN-EWS- 50%
OBC/SC/ST- 40%
PwD- 45%

Application form release 2nd December 2019
Last date for Submission of application form 31st December 2019
Last date of successful transaction of fee1st January 2020 (Upto 11:50 PM)
Application form correction starts 15th January 2020
Last date for correction in application form 31st January 2020
NEET (UG) Admit Card 27th March 2020
NEET 2020 Exam Date 3rd May 2020
Answer key 2nd week of May 2020
Result announcement 4th June 2020
Counselling date 2nd week of June 2020


Application Fee

The application fee payable for different categories is:

General Category: Rs.1500/-
General-EWS/ OBC-NCL*: Rs. 1400/-

SC/ST/PWD/Transgender Category: Rs.800/-
Candidates will have to also pay additional charges & GST.
