Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) instituted ISRO Awards Scheme during 2006 to recognise the contributions made by individuals and teams to the success of respective projects and programmes of ISRO

Jenita Mary Nongkynrih, a young woman scientist from Meghalaya, has been selected for this years ISRO Young Scientist Award for her urban information system project in the North East. The award carries a citation and cash of Rs 50,000.
