Eligibility
The Awards are offered to the teachers working in the Institutions/Universities/Colleges of Technical Education (TE) specially Engineering & Technology, Architecture, Town Planning, Management, Pharmacy, Applied Arts & Crafts and such other subject under the definition of TE as per the specially Engineering & Technology, Architecture, Town Planning, Management, Pharmacy, Applied Arts & Crafts and such other subjects under the definition of TE as per the AICTE Act, 1987. The awardee can also work at an institution other than his/her parent institution.

Tenure
The award is for a period of three years and this period should be devoted to work on the project only with a teaching load of minimum of 6 hours and maximum of 10 hours either in the parent institution or host institution.

Honorarium & Research Grant
The award shall include full salary plus other allowances. In addition of the full salary and other allowances of the awardee, a research grant of upto Rs. 3.00 lakhs (Rupees three lakhs only) will be given for purchase of equipment including personal computer/informatics services, books/journals, field work, travel in India and securing necessary technical services as per University/College/Institution rules, during the period of the award.
