The Course is Designed to Give the Students a Broad Understanding of all Issues Related to the Analysis and Design of Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal Systems.

Instructional Aspects:

The pre-requisite for this course is CE211.

This is an Elective course with 3-Lectures and 2 Hours of Design Lab Per Week.

Design lab will Consist of Solving Design Problems in the Class Similar to ESC 101 Programming or TA 101 Drawing Lab.

Course Content:

Introduction and Scope;
Analysis and Design of Water Treatment Systems;
Analysis and Design of Water Distribution Networks;
Analysis and Design of wastewater Collection Systems;
Analysis and Design of Wastewater Treatment Systems;
Rural Water Supply and Sanitation;

The Various Sources of Water can be Classified into two Categories:
Surface Sources, such as
Ponds and lakes;
Streams and rivers;
Storage reservoirs; and
Oceans, generally not used for water supplies, at present.
Sub-surface sources or underground sources, such as
Springs;
Infiltration wells ; and
Wells and Tube-wells
