Re: CIDCO Water Cut
Yes City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) has published notice in November 2015 for 20% water cut, as are looking for reason behind it so I am telling that in light of less rainfall this year in the catchment areas of Morbe Dam (NMMC), Barvi Dam of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Patalganaga Water Supply Scheme of Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) and augmentation of 1200 mm dia MS Pipeline to 1500 mm from Hetawane Dam to Water Treatment Plant, Jite, Tal. Pen, they have observed a short supply of 33 MLD with respect to the present demand of 216 MLD due to Water Cut by NMMC, MIDC & MJP. Therefore CIDCO has no option but to declare 20% water cut w.e.f 06.11.2015 . In order to improve the situation, City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) is taking the following measures: 1. Immediate measures taken up by City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO): • Additional 3 MLD of water is requested from MIDC (expected in two months. • The work of augmentation of raw water pumps at Hetawane Water Treatment Plant is taken up (Expected extra supply 15 MLD, expected completion in May 2016). 2. Short Term Measures : • City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) has sought additional water supply of 35 MLD over and above the present 85 MLD from the MJP Patalganga Water Supply Scheme which is under augmentation by MJP and it is expected to be available by December 2016. • The work of augmentation of 1200 mm MS pipeline to 1500 mm dia. MS line between Hetawane Dam and CIDCO’s Water Treatment Plant at Jite, Tal. Pen. (Expected completion May 2017, additional water expected 35 MLD ). • City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) requested GoM and MIDC for additional quota of 100 MLD from MIDC’s Barvi Dam which is expected to be available by December 2016. • City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) is planning to provide recycled water available from its various sewage treatment plants which can be utilized for various purposes other than drinking. The work will be taken up shortly and completed by December 2016 (Additional water expected 20 MLD) CIDCO Water Cut info notification |
