Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility test is also known as UPTET.

UPBEB conducts UPTET. Teacher Eligibility Test known as TET. It is conducted for candidates looking for to be appointed as teachers in government-run organizations.

Teacher Eligibility Test – Uttar Pradesh (UP-TET) Levels as Follows:
I. Primay Level (Class I-V)
II. Language Teacher Eligibility Primary level
III. Upper Primary Level (Class IV-VIII)
IV. Language Teacher Eligibility Upper Primary Level

UPTET Eligibility Details:

For Primary Teacher (Classes I-V)

Candidates must have completed Graduation with minimum 50% marks and have a 2 year Diploma in Special Education/BTC/Nursery Teacher Training recognized by NCTE.

For Upper Primary Teacher (Classes VI-VIII)

Candidates must have completed Graduation with minimum 50% marks and have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree

Paper pattern:

UPTET 2013 Paper I (for classes I to V):

Duration of examination: 1.5 hr

(i) Child Development and Pedagogy
(ii) Language I
(iii) Language II
(iv) Mathematics
(v) Environmental Studies

30 MCQs and 30 Marks for each Paper

Total 150 MCQs 150 Marks

PTET 2013 Paper II (for classes VI to VIII):

Exam Duration: 1.5hr

(i) Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory)
(ii) Language I (compulsory)
(iii) Language II (compulsory)
(iv)(a) For Mathematics and Science teacher: Mathematics and Science
(b) For Social Studies/Social Science teacher: Social Science
(c) For any other teacher: either (a) or (b) 60 MCQs

Total 60 MCQs
Total 60 Marks

Unit-1 (Marks-06)
• Child Development: Concept of growth and development, Principles and dimensions of development. Factors affection development (especially in the context of family and school) and its relationship with learning
• Role of Heredity and environment
Unit-2 (Marks-06)
• Meaning and Concept of learning and its processes. Factors Affection learning.
• Theories of learning and its implication
• How Children learn and think.
• Motivation and Implications for Learning.
Unit-3 (Marks-06)
• Individual Differences: Meaning, types and factors Affection Individual differences Understanding individual differences on the basis of language, gender, community, caste & relign.
• Personality: Concept and types of personality, Factors responsible for shaping it. Its measurement.
• Intelligence: Concept, Theories and its measurement, Multidimensional Intelligence.
Unit-4 (Marks-06)
• Understanding diverse learners: Backward, Mentally retarded, gifted, creative, disadvantaged and deprived, specially abled.
• Learning Difficulties.
• Adjustment: Concept and ways of adjustment. Role of teacher in the adjustment.
Unit-5 (Marks-06)
• Teaching learning process, Teaching learning strategies and methods in the context of National Curriculum Framework 2005.
• Meaning and purposes of Assessment, Measurement and Evaluation. Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation. Constriction of Achievement Test.
• Action Research.
• Right to Education Act 2009 (Role and Responsibilities of Teachers)

Divided in to 6 Units and each unit carrying 5 marks.

Unit-I (Marks-05)
• Unseen Prose Passage
• Synonyms, Antonyms, Spellings, Word-formation, One Word Substitution.
Unit-II (Marks-05)
• Unseen Prose Passage
• Part of Speech, Tenses, Determiners, Change of Degrees.
Unit-III
• Framing Question including Wh-questions, Active and Passive Voice, Knowledge of English sounds and Phonetic Symbols.
Unit-IV
• Principles of Teaching English, Methods and Approaches to English Language Teaching.
Unit-V
• Development of Language Skills, Teaching Learning Materials: Text books, Multi-Media Materials and other resources.
Unit-VI
• Comprehensive & Continuous Evaluation, Evaluation Language Proficiency.
