University of Cincinnati Children's Hospital

Will you please tell me what are the facilities offered at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center? What is the ranking of the University of Cincinnati children's hospital? Also tell me what are the charges of one day at this centre? Is there any vacant seat available for any post and what will be the eligibility needed to apply for that post at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center?

Re: University of Cincinnati children's hospital

Cincinnati Childrens, a non-profit academic medical centre established in 1883, is one of the oldest and most distinguished pediatric hospitals in the United States.

At Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Centre, the Division of Speech Pathology provides speech pathology graduate students experience in the assessment and treatment of pediatric communication disorders. Students from university programs are accepted for practicum experiences or internships.

Eligibility
One must have completed at least one year of graduate training.
In addition, one must have completed a minimum of 12 hours of clinical observation and 150 clinical hours of direct treatment experience, preferably with a pediatric population, prior to beginning the program.

Orientation

One needs to attend an orientation and education program prior to involvement in inpatient care. The program is offered twice a month on Monday mornings through the Cincinnati Childrens Human Resources Department.
The compulsory program provides specific information to students regarding proper processes for interacting with environment, including:
Safety and security
Universal blood and body fluids
Hazardous materials and waste
Emergency preparedness
Life safety
Medical equipment
Utilities

One will become oriented to the Speech Pathology Division and given information regarding what to expect from the experience. This is accomplished through:
A review of the student handbook
A review of policies and procedures regarding safety and infection control
A review of the dress code
A meeting with the supervising speech pathologist
A tour of department and facility
A review of the schedule, plan for practicum and supervisors expectations
