University of Calcutta invited application form for admission in PhD programme in Microbiology.

PhD Microbiology Admissions-

Number of seats: 20 [Reservation of seats as per the West Bengal Higher Education Institutions (Reservation in admission) rules, 2013]

Eligibility:

M.Sc./B.Tech. in biological sciences from a UGC recognized university.

Candidates are required to clear Research Eligibility Test for admission.

The eligible candidates who cleared NET/SET/ SLET/ GATE/ M.Phil are exempted from appearing in RET-WP and should directly appear for RET-OP interview.

Structure Of RET –WP (50 marks):

Multiple choice questions based on the syllabus of the CSIR/UGC NET examination in Life Sciences (1 mark each: 30 questions) and one broad answer type question (20 marks).

Candidates must obtain qualifying marks in the RET-WP part -

General – 60% marks
OBC-A & OBC-B – 54% marks
SC/ST/PH – 45% marks
