The eligibility & the selection process for the B.Tech in Nautical Technology offered by Tolani Maritime Institute in Mumbai is given below:

Eligibility for B. Tech. Nautical Technology

Age

Male applicants born on or after 1st September 1994 are eligible to apply for the course. In accordance with Government of India guiding principle, there is a two year age relaxation for female applicants and girls born on or after 1st September 1992 are eligible to apply for the course.

Gender

TMI encourages the involvement of both genders without discrimination.

Marital Status

Only unmarried applicants will be considered.

Academic Qualifications

One must have fruitfully completed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with:
At least 60% scores in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (P C M), and
At least 50% scores in English either in Class X or Class XII

Physical Fitness

The Institute has laid down comprehensive minimum physical fitness and medical standards. The applicant has to meet these standards to qualify for admission. One is advised to have himself medically examined by experienced doctors before applying. This will ensure that they meet the minimum requirements, which in turn will avoid disappointment at a later stage.

Note: Applicant for the B.Tech. Nautical Technology programme must have 6/6 vision in both eyes.

A successful career as a merchant mariner requires more than just a sturdy academic foundation. Other quality that are necessary include:
