Here I am providing the Common Law Admission test (Under-Graduate Programme) pattern / subjects which you are looking for . Total Marks - 200 Duration of Examination- Two hours (02:00 hours) Number of multiple-choice questions of one mark each - 200 Subject areas with Weightage English including Comprehension - 40 Marks General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 50 Marks Legal Aptitude - 50 Marks Logical Reasoning - 40 Marks Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) - 20 Marks Negative Marking --0.25 marks Syllabus -- English including comprehension:- The English section will test the candidates’ proficiency in English based on comprehension passages and grammar. in the comprehension section, candidates will be questioned on their understanding of the passage and its central theme, meanings of words used therein etc. the grammar section requires correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling of blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc. General Knowledge and Currents Affairs:- As far as general knowledge is concerned, the candidates will be tested on their general awareness including static general knowledge. Questions on current affairs will test candidates on their knowledge of current affairs Mathematics:- Legal Aptitude:- This section will test candidate’s interest towards study of law, research aptitude and problem solving ability. Questions will be framed with the help of legal propositions (described in the paper), and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied. Some propositions may not be “true” in the real sense (e.g. the legal proposition may be that any person who speaks in a movie hall and disturbs others that are watching the movie will be banned from entering any movie theatre across India for one year). Candidates will have to assume the “truth” of these propositions and answer the questions accordingly. Logical Reasoning:- The purpose of the logical reasoning section is to test the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It will include a wide variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc. However, visual reasoning will not be tested. |

The syllabus for Common Law Admission Test Under Graduate (CLAT UG) is as follows: CLAT Syllabus for LLB English Language ●Read and comprehend the main point discussed in the passage. Also, questions will be asked according to the arguments and viewpoints or set out in the passage ●Draw inferences and conclusions based on the passage ●Summarise the passage ●Understand the meaning of various words and phrases used in the passage ●Compare and contrast the different arguments or viewpoints set out in the passage Current Affairs including General Knowledge In this section, a 450 words essay will be provided. The passage could be derived from news, journalistic sources and other non - fiction writing. The questions will be asked from legal information or knowledge discussed in related to the passage Various questions on current affairs questions will be asked such as: 1.Contemporary events of significance from India and the world 2.Arts and Culture 3.International Affairs 4.Historical events of continuing significance Legal Reasoning Here in this section, a passage of 450 words will be asked. The passage will be related to fact situations or scenarios involving legal matters, public policy questions or moral philosophical enquiries. From each passage a series of questions will be asked that will require you to: ●Identify and infer the rules and principles set out in the passage ●Apply such rules and principles to various fact situations ●Understand how changes to the rules or principles may alter their application to various fact situations Logical Reasoning This section will include short passages of 300 words. Each passage will have questions that will require you to: ●Recognize an argument, its premises and conclusions ●Read and identify the arguments set out in the passage ●Infer what follows from the passage and apply the inferences to new situations ●Draw relationships and analogies, identify contradictions and equivalence, and assess the effectiveness of arguments ●Critically analyse patterns of reasoning and analyse how conclusions may depend on particular premises or evidences Quantitative Techniques This section have short sets of facts or propositions, graphs, or other textual, pictorial or diagrammatic representations of numerical information, followed by a series of questions. One will be required to derive information from such passages, graphs or other representatives. The questions will require to: ●Derive, infer, manipulate numerical information set out in such passages, graphs or other representations ●Apply various 10th standard mathematical operations on such information including from areas such as ratios and proportions, basic algebra, mensuration and statistical estimation |
