For B.Arch admission there is no separate entrance examination conducted by SRM University. Admissions will be based on NATA & ATA scores. National Aptitude Test in Architecture is for admission to first year of 5-year Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) degree course . Eligibility Criteria Applicants must pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent. Those Applicants appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) or equivalent examination may also appear in NATA Aptitude Test with at least 50 % marks in aggregate at 10+2 level. Exam Pattern: a paper-based on drawing test of two hours of duration a computer-based online aesthetic sensitivity test of one hour duration. Section-A Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil, Architectural Awareness, architectural terminology, Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities and color. Historical and contemporary buildings of Architectural importance, Architects and their Works, Awareness of persons, places, buildings etc. of Architectural importance. Section- B Aesthetic, Sensitivity and Drawing Skills, Analytical reasoning Mental ability, Elements of Design: Lines, Form, Mass, Solid etc, Generation of plan, elevations and 3D views of objects. Creating two dimensional and three dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms, Development of 3 Dimensional objects from two-dimensional shapes Or vice versa, Visualizing different sides of Three Dimensional objects, theory of colors, Principle of Design, Harmony, Balance, etc. Section- C Scale and proportion, Freehand sketching of objects and Activities commonly seen in the rural or urban/suburban context such as Furniture, Machine, landscape, Buildings, kitchens, Playground, Markets, Railway Platform, Bus Stop, Exhibitions etc, Enlargement & Reduction of Drawings, Mirror image etc. Tentative Dates: Date of Notification Feb, 2015 Last Date of Filling of Application Form Feb, 2015 Date of Exam Mar, 2015 |

SRM University does not conduct any entrance examination for admission in B. Arch course. But one needs to appear and clear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) NATA Exam Pattern consists of the following two sections: 1. Drawing Test: The NATA Drawing Test is a paper based test designed to test the drawing skills of a candidate. Candidates have to attempt three questions in 2 hours. The Drawing Aptitude of a candidate for NATA 2014 is judged on the basis of the following Proportionally sketching ability of the candidate in a visually attractive manner Ability to visualize and draw the effects of light on a given object including shadows cast by the object on the surroundings Formation of a building or a structure by combining and composing the given three dimensional elements A sense of perspective drawing An understanding of scale and proportions Ability to use colors in given composition to create visual harmony Ability to use given shapes and forms to create interesting two dimensional compositions Ability to Pencil Sketch and draw themes on day to day experiences from memory 2. Aesthetic Sensitivity Test: A computer based test comprising of 40 multiple choice questions. A computer adaptive test, this section is entirely dependent upon the candidate’s performance. Every correct answer leads to a comparatively difficult question and vice versa. Scores of the candidates are dependent upon the difficulty levels answered, the variety of questions answered and the appropriate content coverage. A candidate can answer a question in 60 to 90 seconds based on the difficulty level of the asked question There is no negative marking for this test Candidates will be measured on the basis of their imagination, perception and observation along with creativity, communication and architectural awareness. Candidates are judged in the NATA Aesthetic Sensitivity Test on the basis of the following: Ability to visualize three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawing Ability to visualize the different sides of three dimensional objects Ability to identify commonly used materials and objects on the basis of their textural qualities Imaginative comprehension and expression Analytical Reasoning Mental Ability Architectural Awareness B Arch 2015 Important Dates Last Date for Receipt Download Applications March 25, 2015 Last Date for Receipt Online Applications March 30, 2015 Last Date for Submission of Nata Score & +2 mark for B.Arch June 6, 2015 Publication of Merit List June 8, 2015 Counselling Dates To Be Announced By June 8, 2015 Fee Structure B.Arch - Bachelor of Architecture (5 Years) 2,00,000 |
