Re: Sardar Patel University Entrance Test

The Sardar Patel University was established in the year December 1955 by an Act of the Legislative Assembly of the then Bombay Province and recognised under 2f of the UGC Act in October 1968.
The Sardar Patel University offers many UG & PG courses.

The Sardar Patel University gives admission through the GCET entrance test that is conducted by the Gujarat Board, for MCA course, the details are as follows:

GCET MCA:
Eligibility:

The candidates should have graduated from a University recognised and located in Gujarat State are eligible to appear for GCET.

The candidates who have graduated in a 3-year course from a University outside Gujarat State but have passed Std 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognised school located in Gujarat State are also eligible to appear for GCET.

The candidates must have passed 12th class or its equivalent examination with Mathematics/Business Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects.

How to apply:
Registration:

For new registration, candidate has to print the Fee Challan from the website on the GCET official website and go to any of the help centre.
The Bank counter will accept Challan and fee there. By giving one stamped copy of the fee Challan, candidate can get information brochure issued from the help centre, which comes with User – ID and Password.

Entrance Test Pattern
The Entrance Test will contain 100 multiple choice questions and the duration of the test is 80 minutes.
Number of questions and maximum allotted time for different sections will be as per following table.
The candidate has to start with first section and after its submission or maximum time duration (64 minutes) is over, he/she can start second section.
Time saved in first section shall not be carry forwarded to second section.
Section wise details are as follows:

Section 1:
Total Questions: 80
Total Time: 64 Minutes
English Language Skill: 20
Quantitative Aptitude: 30
Analytic and Logical Reasoning: 30

Section 2:
Total Questions: 20
Total Time: 16 Minutes
Quantitative Aptitude: 10 Questions
Analytical and Logical Reasoning: 10 Questions

For a right answer, the candidate will get 4 Marks and for a wrong answer 1 Mark will be deducted from the total marks.

Number system: HCF, LCM, Geometric Progression, Arithmetic progression, Arithmetic mean, Geometric mean, Harmonic mean, Median, Mode, Number Base System.
Geometry, (Lines, angles, Triangles, Spheres, Rectangles, Cube, Cone etc)
Averages, Percentages, Partnership
Menstruation, Allegation & Mixtures, Work, Pipes and Cisterns
Simple Interest & Compound Interest
Set Theory, Venn diagram
Ratios and Proportion, Ratios, Percentages, In-equations
Instalment Payments, Partnership, Clocks
Probability, Permutations & Combination
Quadratic and linear equations
Algebra

Reasoning:
Critical reasoning, Visual reasoning, Assumption-Premise-Conclusion, Assertion and reasons, Statements and assumptions, identifying valid inferences , identifying Strong arguments and Weak arguments.
Statements and conclusions, Cause and Effect, Identifying Probably true, Probably false, definitely true, definitely false kind of statement, Linear arrangements, Matrix arrangements.
Graphs can be Column graphs, Bar Graphs, Line charts, Pie Chart, Graphs representing Area, Venn diagram, etc.
Symbol Based problems, Coding and decoding , Sequencing , identifying next number in series, Puzzles, Syllogisms, Functions, Family tree - identifying relationship among group of people and etc.

English:
Comprehension of passage
Fill In the Blanks, Jumbled paragraphs with 4 or 5 sentences, Jumbled paragraphs (6 sentences with first and last fixed), Contextual usage, Analogies, Antonyms, etc...
Sentence Correction, Foreign language words used in English, Sentence completion, odd man out, idioms, one word substitution, Different usage of same word etc.
