Hi I would like to have the information about the recognition receive by the University Grants Commission for the Punjab Technical University?

I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (PTU) was built up in the Year 1997 under the Punjab Technical University Act, 1996(Punjab Act No. 1 of 1997) to accommodate the foundation and fuse of a University for the progression of specialized training and developement thereof in the State of Punjab and for matters associated therewith. In compatibility of this Act, the University began its voyage with 09 building schools and few administration schools subsidiary to it.

From that point forward, the University has made some amazing progress and amid this Academic Session 2014-15, the University has associated 107 building Colleges, 140 Management and Computer Application courses, 33 foundations conferring Pharmacy training, 06 schools granting Hotel Management instruction, 08 Colleges giving Architecture Education and 21 Regional Center for M.Tech and Ph.D in various branches of Engineering and Management and 01 Regional Center for M.Pharmacy. All the more then 2100+ Learning Centers of PTU are giving proficient training through Distance Learning everywhere throughout the Country and abroad.

Recognitions:

1. PTU is a State Government University established by Government of Punjab by a Legislative Act.
2. IKG-PTU has been given recognition by University Grant Commission for running Distance Education Programme.
3. PTU is recognized under section 2(f) of UGC act and offers programs only as per nomenclature defined by UGC.
4. PTU is a member of AIU (Association of Indian Universities)
5. PTU degrees are recognized world over including certification by NARRIC for Britain.
6. MSC-IT of PTU is rated equivalent to Masters Degree in Britain.
7. Degrees and Diplomas are recognized for equivalence and lateral entry by New College Nottingham, City college Norwich, Birmingham City University, University College Birmingham.
