UGC is the sole regulating body in the country for distance education and it has been granting approval to the institutes to offer courses that must follow certain standards and guidelines. The Central Government in December 2012, change the functions of the Distance Education has been transferred from Distance Education Council (DEC) to University Grants Commission (UGC). Total No. of Universities in the Country as on 16.02.2016 Universities Total No State Universities 343 Deemed to be Universities 123 Central Universities 46 Private Universities 232 Total 744 All UGC recognised universities for MBA Here some universities these are approved by UGC for MBA: Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur Andhra University, Visakhapatnam Dr. B.R.
