The PSU (Public Sector Undertakings) of Indian Government has more than 200 commercially functioning companies. These undertakings are divided into two parts – state and central. The students from technical background can apply in technical service providing companies, i.e. BSNL, MTNL, SAIL, NHAI, NTPC, BHEL, ONGC, HPCL, IOCL, BPCL and many more. Pattern of PSUs Exams: Examination pattern will be different for all PSU’s and vary from one PSU to another. Number of Questions: 150-200 Questions Time duration: 2 – 2½ Hrs Negative Marking: 1/3 Technical: 75% of total questions General aptitude with English: 25% Selection Procedure: Stage-I: - Written Examination Stage-II: - Interview and GD Stage-III: - Medical Examination Stage-I: - Written Examination Duration: - 1–3 hrs (avg 2 hrs) Written exam is divided mainly into 4 sections:- Technical Aptitude & Reasoning English & RC General Awareness & current affairs Interview focuses on: Maximum stress on testing the technical knowledge of the candidate More of HR Question limited to the general introduction, work experience, hobbies etc. Final year project Group Discussion is also conducted at some PSUs: Duration is 20 -30 minutes.
