The eligibility requirements and other details for admission in B Tech (Bachelor of Technology) 1st year Program offered by the Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh are as follows:


Eligibility Criteria

One should have done Class XII board exams with minimum qualifying marks or one appearing/ pursuing Class 12th may also eligible to apply.

One must hold a valid JEE Main Rank.

One claiming reservation quota should produce the necessary certificates, if they fail to do so, their candidature will be cancelled.

NRI/Foreign applicants should follow the rules and regulations prescribed by the Government of India and Panjab University.


B.Tech. Admission

Admissions to B. Tech programme for General/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ PwD categories in Punjab Engineering College is based on JEE Main rank. The seats for B. Tech programmes for academic session 2020-21 will be filled through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)/ JoSAA).

For Sportspersons, Sons/Daughters/Spouses of Military/ Paramilitary Personnel, Children/ Grandchildren of Freedom Fighters and Kashmiri Migrants and Kashmiri Pandits/ Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in Kashmiri Valley, admissions will be conducted by the institute itself and a separate advertisement will be issued in the month of June, 2020.


Selection Process

Admission will be done on the basis of scores obtained in JEE Main and class 12th in the ratio of 60:40. This procedure is called as normalization. One will be judged by normalized scores.

An inter-se merit list will be taken into account while inviting applicants for counselling.

One who is acknowledged eligible by CBSE for central counselling will also be allowed to participate in JAC counselling as well.
