Osmania University is named after its founder, Nawab Osman Ali Khan, the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad who rather through a farman or Royal Charter, brought the University into existence in 1918. It is the seventh oldest in the Country and third oldest in South India.

About the Phd Entrance Exam

Osmania University directs Osmania University Ph.D. Eligibility Test for admission to Ph.D. programmes in faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce, Management, Education, Law, Science, Oriental Languages, Engineering, Pharmacy and Informatics.

Symmetry with Substitution Exercises in Molecular Point Groups Symmetry and Dipolemoment Symmetry criteria for Optical activity.. Bonding in metal complexes

Bonding in metal complexes Crystal Field Theory:
Salient features of CFT. d-orbital splitting patterns in regular Octahedral, tetragonally distorted octahedral, Jahn-Tellar theorem-, tetrahedral, square planar, trigonal planar, and linear geometries. Factors influencing the magnitude of crystal field splitting in octahedral complexes nature of metal ions, nature of ligands, geometry. Concept of weak field and strong fields. - Calculation of crystal field stabilization energies (CFSEs) in six and four coordinate complexe
