Nigerian Police University Wudil Kano
I want to take admission into the second course of the degree programme of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil , Kano . Please tell me when will sale of online application forms commence? Does this Nigerian Police University open to both male and female ?

The Police Academy was founded in 1988 and so far has trained many Cadet ASPs and Cadet Inspectors. The aims and objectives of establishing the Police academy are to provide an institution capable of producing qualitative manpower especially at the ASP and Inspectorate cadre, in order to meet up with the middle level manpower requirements of the Nigeria Police Force and to equip trainees with competences backed by sound academic background, high professional and moral standards for effective law enforcement and selfless service to the Nation. Admission Requirements The following are the admission requirements: a. One must be Nigerian citizens and must be between 17 and 22 years of age, and must have a height of not less than 1.67 Metres (5 Feet 6 Inches) if male, and 1.62 Metres (5 Feet 4 Inches) if female. In addition, male candidates must have an expanded chest size of not less than 86cm (34 Inches for those between 21 and 22 years of age). One must be free from any physical deformity or mental disability. b. One must have obtained a minimum of 6 credits at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Exam (SSCE) conducted by the West African Exams Council (WAEC), the National Exams Council (NECO) or the National Business and Technical Exams Board (NABTEB) at no more than 2 sittings. One must also have a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics as well as subjects relevant to the candidate’s chosen course of study in the Academy. c. One must also obtain satisfactory scores in both the written exam and the interview and must pass physical and psychological tests of fitness. d. SSCE statement of results or certificates relating to exams taken before 2015 will not be accepted. Selection Process The selection into the Academy is done on quota basis i.e. each state of the federation is given an equal number of slots, e.g. 12 persons from each state. Selection starts from the state level to zonal level and finally the Force Headquarters Abuja. The Police service commission has the sole responsibility of appointment into the Nigeria Police force application forms are obtainable from the Police service commission or Force Headquarters websites after advertisement in National News, the Media and websites.
